Notification system v2 - Silent notifications

Continuing from the success of the new broadcasting notification system for push notifications, we will be re-building the system that processes silent notifications (formally known as soft notifications) and bringing the creation and management of silent notifications over to the newly built and improved UX push notifications. It is an integral part of the platform that allows event organisers to engage with participants of their events.

Why are we building it?

We want to ensure silent notifications are promptly received by end users in the notification centre on their mobile app and web browsers.

This development will aim to remove any delays, so silent notifications are sent and visible to users on the notification centre in less than 2 minutes to all intended users.

• Ability to schedule more than one push notification per hour

• Ability to multi-select data types when event organisers segment their audience

• Segment selection to include users who are active at the time of sending a notification rather than at the time of scheduling it.

• The ability to edit and cancel notifications that are scheduled before they are sent out.
