Improvements & New Features: Event Foundations 🏠

1. More new homepage blocks: video and text, carousels

Why have we built it?

We wanted to make it easy to design beautiful, functional event homepages. You can now use new Homepage Blocks that allow you to highlight even more of your event and create additional sponsorship opportunities for your exhibitors.

You can now add:

  • Video and text blocks

  • Item profile blocks

  • Quick link Image blocks

  • Company & headline profile blocks

  • Carousel blocks
    Large (page width)
    Small (third of page width)

Improvements & New Features: Connections 🤝

1. Grip Sign Up

Why have we built it?

For smaller or free-to-attend events, registration systems can not only be prohibitively expensive, but also in some cases the depth of data and insights they provide is simply not required.

We’ve built Grip Sign Up to save you time and cost spent on events that fall outside of your main event programme, like webinars or brief speed networking events.

What are the changes?

Previously, new attendees could join events only through external registration-system integration, or when manually added by an admin with dashboard access.

Now, we’ve simplified the flow, allowing quicker access for your event participants, with only the most minimal data fields, reducing barriers to access.

You can even share the link on social media to help drive attendance right up to the last minute.

Available from: 28th February 2022
Available to: All Users, Manually Enabled

2. Unified Account Settings Page

Why have we built it?

We’ve combined three setting pages into one to make it quicker and easier to navigate. We look forward to releasing more of these types of User Interface design updates in March!

What are the changes?

The following three settings now all live in one place on the ‘Account Settings’ page:

  • Email and Password

  • Notifications

  • Delete account

Available from: 28th February 2022
Available to: All Users, Automatically Enabled

3. Arena (Chat, Q&A and Polling) Moderation

Why have we built it?

Sometimes you need multiple moderators for your events to manage your incoming questions and launch polls. But you might not want to give those people full backend access to your Arena account.

What are the changes?

We’ve made it easy to designate moderators for your sessions, giving them direct access on the networking panel on your Grip event, without a separate log in. Moderators can create and activate polls, answer questions in text form, delete messages (and even ban users, if required), directly from the Grip platform.

Available from: 28th February 2022
Available to: All Users, Manually Enabled

Improvements & New Features: Content 🎬

1. Grip webinar with Clipr Integration

Why have we built it?

We want to make sure your content is delivered in the highest quality and add features that improve your content consumption, during and post-event.

What are the changes?

Grip can now run webinars without the use of a third party integration. But not only that, the video content will be recorded, transcribed, close captioned, translated and ‘chapterised’ automatically.

Attendees can react as the session goes along, so you can easily see which parts of your sessions are hitting the mark.

This is BIG news for us here at Grip, so we’ve created an additional deck about our video capabilities. If you want to read more, you can access it here!

Available from: 28th February 2022
Available to: All Users, Manually Enabled

Improvements & New Features: Mobile 📱

1. New App Design: Profile Pages

Why have we built it?

We want to improve the user experience for quick navigation and optimum stability (and make it prettier at while we’re at it.)

What are the changes?

We have improved the UX/UI on the profile details page with a crisper design. Plus, we’ve updated the architecture of both iOS and Android apps to allow for future performance improvements.

The team have been diligently fixing a number of little bugs this week. (Not the nice red ones with spots. We enjoy those.)
